We’re excited to announce Ahead of the Game 2020, with support from the Premier League, League Football Education (LFE) and The PFA.
Following the success of the first Ahead of the Game event at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester in April 2019, LAPS is is bringing Ahead of the Game 2020 to 3 iconic venues throughout March 2020. These are fantastic opportunities for football club academies, designed to help young players plan ahead and think about careers beyond football while they’re still actively training and playing.

All Ahead of the Game events run from 1-5pm
Ahead of the Game is designed for male and female players from across UK football academies, Premier League, English Football League and non-league clubs, including development squads.
Our partner enterprises will stage a combination of workshops, guest speakers and interactive experiences, creating an important opportunity for businesses, educational organisations and players to connect with and inspire one another.
We’re keen for athletes and employers to mingle in a less formal environment and enabling people to try their hands at the different lines of work on offer with initiative like the Music Zone from Pirate Studios – a chance to participate in DJ workshops, dabble in music production and get a taste of what working in the industry is all about.

We have 3 events throughout March and encourage clubs to extend an invitation to all U18, U23 and senior players, both men and women, including those released this or last season. It’s never too early for players to think about what life after football might look like – the future isn’t certain, but with support and guidance we’re aiming to help players prepare for life after professional sport.
The event will be interactive, informative and fun, providing a fantastic opportunity to connect with potential employers, training providers and other athletes in an informal environment. We are inviting a range of organisations to book exhibition space at the event to spark ideas, provide information and hopefully create new connections that will be mutually beneficial to players and organisations.
Although this event is aimed at footballers, any LAPS Athlete is welcome to attend for free.
