LAPS Launch St James’s Place Partnership

Exciting news for our members today as we officially announce a brand-new partnership with St. James’s Place Wealth Management.

Recently voted “Best Financial Adviser” at the 2017/18 Personal Finance Awards for the eighth year running, St. James’s Place has been providing its clients with the very best investment and wealth management advice for over 25 years. The partnership between LAPS and St. James’s Place offers LAPS members a chance to attend any one of a series of free open evening careers events which could lead to a fantastic new career in finance – with the added benefit of a fully-funded training programme.

St. James’s Place Academy

For people interested in a career in finance, there is no better place to learn and develop new skills than at the St. James’s Place Academy. Comprising intensive vocational study with hands-on practical experience, and with earning opportunities after just six months, the St. James’s Place Academy has kick-started many a lucrative career in the high-octane world of finance, including those of several former sports professionals. The Academy does not require any previous qualifications, so applicants will be selected based purely on their aptitude, attitude and natural ability.

To help ease the transition and assist LAPS members with training, St. James’s Place offers funding to cover your training period. After the initial six months of study to gain your qualifications, you’ll have the opportunity to gain real-world, hands-on work experience, earning money in a financial role, while completing the two-year course. To find out more, just come along to one of the open evenings we’re organising (see below for more details).

Academy open evenings

We have arranged with St. James’s Place a series of open evening events to be held at locations across the UK to enable our members to find out more and get a real taste for what a career in financial management might look like. These events are totally free of charge and offer a fantastic insight into the opportunities available (plus drinks and nibbles of course), so even if you’re not sure whether finance is for you, it’s well worth coming along to find out more.
